Abstract

This study deals with the analysis of the test results on twenty-six specimens subjected to bi-axial bending moments. Specimens have 10cm square section or 15cm square section. Most part of experiments have been published in Trans. A.I.J. No.229 and No.247. The cross section is partitioned by a rectangular grid into a large number of small elemental areas. It is assumed that each element is uniaxially stressed and that the section remains plane after deformation. The moment-curvature relations are obtained by step-by-step application of force-deformation equations. In this sectional analysis, stress-strain hysteresis rules of concrete and reinforcing bar are postulated according to recent experimental studies on them. A part of analytical results are presented in this paper. Experimental and analytical results coincide quite well.
