Abstract

This collection of articles had been put together shortly before its second author died suddenly in 1976. It reports on an exciting body of research, carried out in Scandinavia but supported by U.S. grants and performed in part by American and British scientists. These studies bear witness to the energy, inquisitiveness and versatility of the first author. He has personally tackled enough problems to have given five scientists, each from a different background, plenty to concern themselves with for a lifetime-psychophysiology, genetics, epidemiology, school behavioral assessment, and longitudinal analysis. He also refers briefly to a sixth arena he has only recently entered-prevention through preschool
