Abstract
Content analysis is one of the most commonly used methods for analysing qualitative data. Despite this, little is written about the method and novice researchers often struggle to work out how they should undertake a content analysis. In this update article we provide some definitions related to content analysis, identify the steps that the researcher needs to take when carrying out this technique and discuss issues that may arise during analysis.
