Abstract

Abstract This chapter will be limited to a discussion of MR-based techniques used in the study of aging and dementia, specifically: anatomic MRI; 1HMR spectroscopy; diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI); measures of regional cerebral blood flow and volume; and functional activation. The areas of emphasis in this chapter reflect the fact that the majority of the published literature in this area has focused on anatomic MRI.
