Abstract

ABSTRACT The construction of C(sp 2 )─C(sp 3 ) bond represents a fundamental yet challenging transformation in organic synthesis. Here, we reported a photoinduced cobalt‐catalyzed reductive coupling reaction that efficiently constructs C(sp 2 )─C(sp 3 ) bond between aryl bromides and 1,4‐dihydropyridines. This protocol exhibits good functional group compatibility and broad substrate scope (31 examples, up to 93% yield) under mild reaction conditions. Mechanistic studies reveal that the alkylzinc reagents may be generated via photoinduced single‐electron reduction, expanding the synthetic box for organozinc compound preparation.
