Abstract

ABSTRACT Background The Family Quality of Life (FQoL) of families with children with disabilities in early childhood is affected by multidimensional factors such as social support, emotional well‐being, economic sufficiency and access to services. Methods While qualitative studies exist, few have focused on early childhood within the Turkish context. This study describes how social, economic and emotional factors influence FQoL in families with children with disabilities and provides findings to guide future interventions and policies. The data were collected through semi‐structured interviews. Data were collected through semi‐structured interviews with 12 parents of children with disabilities. Results The findings obtained through the directed content analysis were classified into five main themes: family interaction, parenting, emotional well‐being, physical/financial/material competence and support for disability. Conclusion This study highlights that the FQoL of families with young children with disabilities is influenced by complex and interconnected factors. The findings underscore the importance of developing holistic, accessible and needs‐based support systems that address not only the care burden and economic challenges but also emotional and social well‐being.
